Your site fence, calculated

Describe the site perimeter to Claude. Fencing lays out the panels without cutting a single one, with the bases, clamps, braces, gates and tarps. It hands you the parts list and uses the fences in your inventory.

For general and trade contractors, fence rental companies and site equipment managers.

How it works. You describe the perimeter, Fencing calculates the fence.

Claude passes your perimeter to Fencing. Fencing spreads the range panels over each run, reads your fence fleet in Inventory and returns the calculated fence with its parts list.

  1. 01

“Calculate the fence for a 40 m by 25 m lot, with a 6 m vehicle gate in the middle of the south side.”

  2. 02

“Redo it tarped, with a pedestrian gate 5 m from the northeast corner.”

  3. 03

“Use the fences from our inventory.”

  4. 04

“Place a 3 m by 10 m trailer in the northwest corner: does it get in the way of the fence?”

  5. 05

“Give me the parts list, with the total weight.”

What it does.

Being improved

Site fences, with the parts of your fleet.

  • Your site's perimeter.
    • Describe the outline of the fence segment by segment (length and angle) or point by point.
    • The outline can be open or closed.
    • Choose the panel type: mesh, solid or tarped.
  • Panels are never cut.
    • Each run gets range panels end to end, with as few panels as possible.
    • When the remainder is shorter than the shortest panel, that panel is laid overlapping the previous one.
    • No panel is cut, and no length the range does not have is made up.
  • Every part, placed.
    • A base at each post location.
    • Clamps at joints, overlaps, braces and gate leaves.
    • A brace with its base at every corner and every end of the fence.
    • A tarp on each panel of a tarped fence.
  • Pedestrian and vehicle gates.
    • Give the gate's width, segment and position.
    • Fencing takes the gate leaves of your fleet meant for that kind of opening, otherwise panels on wheels.
    • It uses the fewest leaves that cover the opening.
  • Your fleet, read from Inventory.
    • Fencing reads the fence parts in your inventory.
    • A panel or tarp with the same dimensions (within 5 mm) replaces the generic part, with your part number and weight.
    • A part your fleet lacks stays generic, marked “Not in <your company> catalogue”.
  • Trailers and zones.
    • Place a trailer or a zone: rectangle, centre and angle.
    • Fencing flags a trailer or zone that crosses the fence line, extends beyond a closed perimeter or overlaps another.
  • The parts list.
    • One line per part number: mark, quantity, description, dimensions and weight.
    • The total weight counts only the parts whose weight is known, and the list says so.
  • Questions, asked once.
    • When a value is missing and the result would be wrong without it, Fencing asks all its questions at once, in a single form.
    • For the rest, a line says what is not checked and why.

Questions.About fence calculation.

What does Fencing calculate?

A site fence from its perimeter: the panels of each run, the bases, clamps, braces, gates, tarps, the trailers and zones to check, and the parts list. The generic range is a 6 ft by 10 ft panel (1,829 by 3,048 mm), mesh or solid, with a tarp, base, clamp, brace and wheel.

Does Fencing use my fence fleet?

Yes, if it is in Inventory, in the site fence category. Your panels, tarps, bases, clamps, braces and wheels replace the generic parts, with your part numbers and weights. A crowd barrier is not placed. What your fleet does not have stays generic, marked “Not in <your company> catalogue”.

Why does a panel sometimes stick out?

A panel is never cut. When a run is shorter than the shortest range panel, that panel is placed anyway and sticks out. The result flags it with a point of attention, because it reduces the neighbouring opening or goes past the corner.

Does Fencing check wind?

Not yet: the wind overturning check is in preparation, and the result says it is not done. For a solid or tarped fence, where wind governs stability, Fencing asks for the weight of your bases and adds a point of attention: have the ballast justified before erection.

Why are some weights missing?

A generic part has no manufacturer, so no weight: the list says "not provided" and does not guess it. Your record in Inventory or a value you give in the conversation replaces it. The total weight counts only the parts of known weight.

Does Fencing produce a plan?

Not yet. The drawn plan, its PDF, DXF and STEP files, the isometric view and the parts list in Excel are in preparation. Today, Fencing returns the calculated fence and its parts list.
