How it works. Ask for a family, get that family.
Claude passes your request to Materials, which searches the base catalogue and your own items, then returns the record or the catalogue. Materials also links your Inventory to its records.

What it does.

- A base catalogue. 488 common building materials in Québec, in 11 families: gypsum and drywall systems, steel framing, lumber, wood panels, concrete and masonry, insulation, building envelope, roofing, finishing, hardware and fasteners, reinforcement.
- Records without brands.
- A generic description, in English and French.
- The actual dimensions, the material, the standard (CSA, ASTM, CAN/ULC, NLGA), the grade and the unit of sale.
- The weight, only when a data sheet gives it. Otherwise, the record says "not provided".
- Exactly what you ask for.
- If you ask for drywall, you get only drywall.
- Accessories (framing, joint compounds and tapes, screws) are added only when you ask for them.
- If there is real doubt, your assistant asks you a single short question.
- PDF and Excel catalogues.
- Produce a PDF or Excel catalogue, in English or French.
- Each material has an isometric view, at the same scale within a family.
- Thin profiles have an enlarged section.
- Each catalogue carries a reference that can be checked online.
- Your own items.
- Import your list from an Excel or CSV file, or add an item in the conversation.
- A company item completes or replaces a base record.
- A new item is linked to a base record only when it clearly matches it (same family, compatible dimensions). Otherwise, it stays a separate item.
- You confirm every import.
- The link with your inventory. Materials links the parts in your Inventory to the catalogue's records and proposes the updates. It writes nothing to your inventory without your approval.

Which materials does the catalogue hold?
488 common building materials in Québec, in 11 families, from drywall to reinforcement. Records are generic, unbranded, in English and French. Scaffold parts are not in it: they stay in Inventory and in Scaffold plans.
Why are some weights missing?
A weight is entered only when a data sheet gives it, as is or calculated from its weight per area or per length. Nothing is guessed: when no data sheet gives it, as for lumber or screws, the record says "not provided". You can add your own as a company item.
Can I add my own materials?
Yes:
- Import your list from an Excel or CSV file, up to 20,000 rows.
- Check the preview.
- Choose to add only new items, or also update existing ones.
- Confirm the import.
- Quantity, location or price columns are flagged, never imported.
- No import deletes a record.
Can a catalogue be checked?
Yes. Each page of a PDF catalogue carries a "Réf. TK-…" reference, a check code and a QR code, like plans and labels; the Excel file carries the same reference in the first row of each sheet. The public verification page says whether the reference is authentic and compares the file received with the original.
