Check that a TektonAI plan is authentic and protect yourself from fakes

Where to find a plan's reference, how to check it online, what the check proves and does not prove, and what to do if in doubt.

Before you start: create a TektonAI projectThe instructions to paste into Claude or ChatGPT, once and for all.

A project keeps instructions that apply to all its conversations. Create one for TektonAI: in every conversation, your assistant knows what our tools do and how you work, without you repeating it.

In Claude (tested)

  1. In Claude's left sidebar, open Projects, then Create project. Name it, for example “TektonAI”.
  2. In the project, open the project instructions and paste the text below. Replace the parts in brackets.
  3. Open a conversation in this project. In the conversation's tools menu, check that TektonAI is turned on.

On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, share the project with your colleagues: they all start from the same instructions.

In ChatGPT (not tested)

  1. In ChatGPT's left sidebar, create a new project.
  2. In the project settings, paste the text below into its instructions.

TektonAI must first be added to ChatGPT: see Connect your AI assistant.

In Claude Code

Paste the text into the CLAUDE.md file of the folder you work in.

The instructions to paste

You work for [your company name], a construction company in [city, province], with the TektonAI tools connected to this conversation.

What the TektonAI tools do:
- Scaffold prepares 3D scaffold plans from the dimensions of the structure: dimensioned A3 PDF plan, CAD plan (DXF), 3D model (STEP), bill of materials in Excel and CSV, and the load takedown. It revises an existing plan from its drawing number.
- Inventory keeps track of everything our company owns: quantities available, rented out, in for repair and out of service, by location, and every movement with the employee's name. It imports our parts list and reads barcodes.
- Scaffold plans use the parts of our Inventory when we ask.
- Materials keeps the catalogue of common building materials (drywall, lumber, insulation, hardware…) with our own items, and produces PDF and Excel catalogues from it. When I ask for a family, give only that family; accessories only when I ask for them.

How to work with me:
- Answer in English, in plain words and site terms. Produce documents (plans, calculation notes, labels, slips) in English.
- Use the TektonAI tools for every plan, quantity or weight. Never make up a dimension, a quantity or a weight.
- Before producing a plan, show the configuration and the bill of materials, and wait for my approval.
- When a tool asks me a question through a form, let me answer it myself. Never choose the duty class (light, intermediate or heavy) for me.
- Leave plans at the “PRÉLIMINAIRE” (preliminary) status until I give you the names of the person who checked the plan and the person who approved it.
- For an import into Inventory, show the preview, let me choose the mode and wait for my confirmation: a click on the card, or the word “Import” that I type myself. Pass my message on exactly as I wrote it.
- Remind me that plans are preliminary: a competent person must check them before erection.

You receive a scaffold plan that says it comes from TektonAI. It reaches you from a supplier, a subcontractor or a client. Before relying on it, check it. The check takes a minute and needs no TektonAI account.

This tutorial shows where to look, what the check proves and what it does not.

Step 1: find the reference and the check code

On every sheet of a plan produced by Scaffold, a provenance line is printed above the title block:

“© 2026 TektonAI · tektonai.app · Ref. TK-2026-… · Check XXXX-XXXX” (on a plan in French: “Réf. … · Contrôle …”)

  • The reference (Réf. TK-…) identifies the delivery: the plan, its revision and all its files.
  • The check code comes from a signature only TektonAI can produce. It ties the reference to a summary of the plan: drawing number, revision, client, project, number of pieces, total weight and top platform.
  • The QR code, in the title block, leads to the verification page for that reference.

Provenance line and title block of an example plan: the reference, check code and QR code are blurred

The same line also appears:

  • at the foot of the calculation note’s pages, with the QR code on the first page;
  • at the foot of Inventory’s labels and rental slips.

Step 2: open the verification page

Scan the QR code with your phone, or enter the address yourself:

  • for a plan, a calculation note or a parts catalogue: https://mcp.tektonai.app/scaffold/verifier/<reference>
  • for labels or a rental slip: https://mcp.tektonai.app/inventory/verifier/<reference>

Before opening a QR code’s link, look at the address. It must start with https://mcp.tektonai.app/. A QR code that leads elsewhere is not ours. If in doubt, enter the address yourself with the printed reference.

Older documents may have a QR code to another address:

  • /echafaudcad/verifier/… or /echafaud/verifier/… for a plan;
  • /remise/verifier/… for an Inventory document.

These addresses lead to the same page. They are not fakes. What counts is the mcp.tektonai.app domain.

The page accepts 30 checks per 10-minute period from the same connection. Beyond that, it answers that there have been too many checks and to try again in a few minutes. That message does not mean the document is fake.

Step 3: compare the page with the paper

The page says whether the reference is authentic or unknown. For an authentic reference, it shows:

  • the issuer;
  • the date;
  • the company that produced the document;
  • the check code;
  • the signed content, with the drawing number, the revision, the client and the project.

Compare each point with the plan in your hands:

Verification page of an authentic plan: reference and check code (blurred here), issue date, issuing organization and signed content “DEMO-ERA-01 rev. B · Copropriété des Érables (fictive) · 229 pieces · 1,482 kg · top platform 6.1 m”

  • Is the check code shown the one printed on the sheet?
  • Are the drawing number and the revision the same?
  • Are the company that produced the plan, the client and the project the ones you were told?
  • Do the number of pieces, the weight and the top platform match what the plan shows?
  • Does the date match what you were told?

Do you have the file itself (PDF, DXF, Excel)? Drop it on the page. The page compares its fingerprint with the delivered files, then says whether the file is identical to the original or modified. The file is not kept, and the page never shows the document.

Signs of a fake

  • The page answers “unknown reference” for a document less than 10 years old. Our data is kept for up to 10 years, so an older document also answers “unknown reference”.
  • The check code, drawing number, company, client or project differ from the paper.
  • The page reports the file you dropped as “modified”.
  • The revision shown is older than the one announced on the plan. An old revision is still authentic, since each revision has its own reference. Compare its index with the latest plan received from the company, and ask the company for the current plan.
  • The QR code leads to an address other than mcp.tektonai.app.
  • The plan carries “PRÉLIMINAIRE : NE PAS UTILISER POUR LE MONTAGE” (preliminary, not for erection), but it is presented to you as approved for erection. An approved plan carries the “APPROUVÉ POUR MONTAGE” status, with the names of the person who checked it and the person who approved it.

“Unknown reference” page: no document was issued by TektonAI under this reference

A missing mark does not prove that the document is fake, nor that it is authentic: a screenshot or a photocopy can remove it. Only the check counts.

What the check proves, and what it does not

The check proves that TektonAI issued this reference, for this company, on this date, with this content. If you drop the file, it also proves that the file is identical, byte for byte, to the one delivered.

It does not prove:

  • that a printed document was not altered outside the fields you compared. For a printed document, compare the fields or ask for the file;
  • that the person handing you the plan works for the issuing company;
  • that the plan suits your site. Check that the project and dimensions match;
  • that the plan is correct. An authentic plan is still a preliminary plan. A competent person must check it before erection, and an engineer must seal it when the province’s regulation requires it.

If in doubt

  1. Do not erect the scaffold.
  2. Contact the issuing company, the one the page shows. Use its usual contact details, not those that came with the doubtful document.
  3. Write to us at info@tektonai.app with the reference and a photo of the document.
